The Narrabri Rugby League Football Club will kick off its 2019 Group Four Rugby League season on Sunday with a home game at Collins Park.

The Blues will take on Boggabri in first grade, reserve grade and ladies’ league tag, and the under-18s team will take on the North Tamworth Bears.

In 2019 fan favourite Brenton Cochrane will captain-coach the Blues.

The exciting utility, who will coach for the fourth season this year, said that he was pleased with the club’s pre-season performance.

“We’ve had a pretty good off season,” Cochrane said.

“We have a few games under our belt and I’m happy with the way the boys are looking fitness-wise.

“We started pretty early, pretty much straight after Christmas, and majority of the boys have now played three games of footy.”

Cochrane said that early in pre-season the senior numbers were concerning, but as the season approached those increased and he now has some tough decisions to make regarding team selection.
