Narrabri Red Cross are back at their favourite spot on Maitland Street for the annual Mother’s Day raffle.

Volunteers will be out a few times a week between now and Mother’s Day, selling tickets and of course, putting some time in knitting their beloved Red Cross trauma teddies.

This year’s first prize hamper is a lovely lilac throw, knitted scarf, coat hangers, and handkerchiefs to match and there are also second and third place prizes to be won.

All donations from the raffle will go towards one of their many causes, helping people in distress and local and global emergencies.

Red Cross vice-president Kath Davis may even offer you a bickie when you pop by to show your support and appreciates every donation towards the many causes the organisation supports.

“Right now we’ve got the recent Sydney floods, Ukraine, Gaza, and Red Cross is everywhere,” Kath said.

“Just like we were up here with the bushfires.

“We’re here if you need us.” The Red Cross mission statement on its website states: “The Red Cross mobilises the power of humanity to bring people and communities together in times of need and builds on community strengths to achieve the following outcomes.”
