Snape accepted into Academy of Country Music Senior Course

Boggabri country music artist Sam Snape has been accepted into the Academy of Country Music Senior Course in Tamworth. Born, bred and living on the farm, Mr Snape is a down-to-earth country music artist singing songs about life in rural Australia. He is a regular on country music scene in the Gunnedah region, but also aspires to hit the big stage, with big crowds and have his music heard all over the world. Moree Plains Shire general manager resigns

Moree Plains Shire Council general manager Kelvin Tytherleigh has resigned from his position. The matter was initially raised in a closed session of an extraordinary meeting on December 5. Councillors resolved to delegate to the mayor the power to negotiate and, if appropriate, execute an agreement to affect the termination of the general manager’s contract of employment and termination effective on a date to be agreed. Operation Surge: Twelve arrests made as police target Moree area

Western region police have conducted a three-day high-visibility operation proactively targeting alleged offenders in the Moree area. Between Thursday, December 12 and Sunday, December 15, officers attached to New England Police District, Proactive Crime Team, Licensing Unit, Western Region Enforcement Squad, Traffic and Highway Patrol Command, Youth Command, the Western Region Domestic Violence Team, and detectives conducted a high-visibility operation.
