Narrabri Shire Council is inviting CBD premises owners in Narrabri, Boggabri and Wee Waa to apply for a free ‘facelift’ of their building’s facade and awnings.
Narrabri Shire CBD businesses are being offered the opportunity for a facelift of their premises thanks to a million dollar federal government grant.
Narrabri Shire Council last year was allocated $1 million from the Australian Government’s Drought Communities Fund to be spent on projects around the shire to improve social amenity and lift community spirits.
The council has decided on a project priority list and will apply for part of the funds to go to facelifts of business building facades in the main streets of Narrabri, Wee Waa and Boggabri.
A council officer is now contacting businesses in the three towns to see which business owners would like to take part.
The cost of the cosmetic upgrades will be met by the Council via the drought fund, if council’s application for the project is successful.
“The CBD Beautification Project will include painting building facades, painting awnings, or replacing them,” the council said.
