This week is National Volunteer Week and more than 1000 people and 37 support groups throughout NSW wear red volunteer shirts in support of the community’s Westpac Rescue Helicopter. The service provides a vital emergency service for the community and would not be possible without the support of the volunteers who dedicate their time at local events, cooking barbecues at various venues, running raffles, collecting donations and much more. Volunteers stand alongside partners NSW Ambulance and NSW Health, to help provide the best possible aeromedical search and rescue service for the people of northern NSW. So if you see a volunteer in the community, show your appreciation by saying thank you for all they do.
