Narrabri FC has continued its Namoi Soccer League dominance by defeating second placed Wee Waa United 3-1 at Hogan Oval in round nine on Saturday.
Wee Waa kept Narrabri FC frustrated in the first half, keeping the home side to a nil-all draw at the break.
Wee Waa was able to clinch the lead for a few minutes as Dean Hamblin squeezed past a Narrabri defender and slot his shot past the home side’s goalkeeper.
But the lead was short-lived as Narrabri kicked off and earned a penalty without Wee Waa able to get a touch on the ball.
Narrabri FC’s leading goal-scorer Colby Williams converted the penalty and locked the scores at 1-all within two minutes of Wee Waa
taking the lead.
A gruelling game saw Narrabri take the lead with 25 minutes left to play after a slight lapse in concentration allowed Narrabri’s Zac Lauritsen to put his side into the lead.
Wee Waa didn’t give in and eventually saw Narrabri’s goal-scorer Lauritsen sent off after receiving two yellow cards.
Narrabri FC’s third goal came late as Nathan Trindall scored and secured the win for his side as it defeated Wee Waa 3-1.
