The Bellata War Memorial Hall upgrade has begun with a number of renovations already completed.
Recently the Bellata Hall acquired two grants to refurbish and upgrade the building.
Bellata Hall secretary Bronwyn Johnston said the grants have given the hall a brand new look.
“We received $20,000 from the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW Foundation as part of its Community Futures grant,” said Mrs Johnston.
“That was strictly for appliances so that helped us create a brand new kitchen.
“The second was the Drought Communities Program grant which provided the Hall with just under $50,000.
“That money went towards the painting, the store room and the new kitchen as well.”
With plenty of work finished Mrs Johnston said there are areas that still need attention.
“We need to re-wire the building which will cost around $30,000 ,” she said.
“We are thinking of bringing in a storage facility to keep all the chairs and tables.
“We also need to refurbish the wooden floor in the hall.”
With the renovation Mrs Johnston hopes that many community events will be drawn into the hall.
“We host the annual ball here, the Anzac day service, the public school uses the hall, but we also are looking to host other events and make it a true community hub” she said.
