The Narrabri Netball Association under-10s team has been crowned the 2019 National Primary Games champions after it went through its competition undefeated, winning 11 straight games in the process including the grand final in Tamworth last weekend.

Narrabri also took under-11s, under-12s and under-13s teams which all performed very well.

Narrabri under-10s’ coach Kasey Hilderson said that he was impressed by all Narrabri teams’ performances at the games.

“Narrabri had a great tournament all together,” he said.

“The 11s came third, the 13s lost in the grand final by six points after going through the rest of the tournament undefeated and the under-12s finished fourth or fifth.

“The under-10s played really well, we won 11 games from 11.”

Hilderson said that the under-10s had a great tournament both with and without the ball in their hands.

“I’m very impressed with how they played,” said Hilderson.

“They scored 157 goals and only conceded 21 goals throughout the entire tournament.

“The parents were so impressed by how well the girls gelled together and the way the team passed the ball down the court.

“Even defensively they were just unbelievable.”

Hilderson said that the next challenge would be two tournaments in the near future.

“There are two more carnivals, the first is on the August 4 in Tamworth and the next is two weeks later in Inverell,” said Hilderson.

“If we win those two we would have gone seven from seven tournaments this year.”
