Narrabri Health Service’s Chloe Rumsby has won the Emerging Leader of the Year award at the Hunter New England Health Awards.
The award was announced on Thursday.
The Emerging Leader of the Year ‘recognises someone early in their career who is displaying a commitment to quality and safety, outstanding interpersonal skills with fellow colleagues, delivering patient centred care and demonstrating their value as a team member.’
“Chloe Rumsby joined the Narrabri Health Service team in 2015 and has continued to develop and grow as a capable registered nurse working across the emergency department, inpatient unit and perioperative service,” her awards finalist citation said.
“She has exceptional skills in imparting her knowledge, educating her colleagues and enabling them to develop confidence in patient interactions.
“She has natural ability and displays emotional intelligence in her communication with staff and patients.
Chloe Rumsby was destined for nursing. She said she always knew she would follow in the footsteps of her nan and aunty, footsteps which have led her to Narrabri Hospital’s Emergency Department.
Chloe joined the Narrabri Health Service after completing a transition program to intensive care at John Hunter Hospital and Calvary Mater Newcastle.
She now works as a clinical nurse specialist in emergency care.
Chloe, the daughter of Kristie and Tony Anderson, is married to Brodie Rumsby, found herself back in the town of her schooling, due to personal circumstances and is enjoying the experience a rural hospital is providing.
“There is so much diversity,” Chloe said.
