The Narrabri Blues hosted the North Tamworth Bears in four games of the Group Four Rugby League competition on Sunday at Collins Park.

Narrabri’s first grade side had two weeks off due to an entire competition break which followed the round 10 bye.

The Blues and North Tamworth were locked at 0-all for the first 20 minutes of the contest and the home side only trailed by 12 points heading into the second-half.

But the undefeated Bears came out firing, scoring 48 unanswered second half points to win the match 60-0.

The reserve grade stole the show with a terrific 30-14 win to move just one point behind North Tamworth on the Group Four Rugby League competition ladder.

The under-18s team had a strong showing in a tough match but was defeated 22-4 by North Tamworth.

The Narrabri ladies’ league tag side was beaten 58-6 by an incredibly strong Bears outfit.

In other first grade matches the Werris Creek Magpies defeated the Gunnedah Bulldogs 38-32 and the Boggabri Kangaroos were beaten 44-0 by the Kootingal-Moonbi Roosters.

In Narrabri’s reserve grade clash, the first half saw the lead change twice as both sides led on the scoreboard at separate times.

North Tamworth held the advantage early before the Blues struck back.

But the Bears levelled the score at 14-all just before half-time.

Narrabri left the back and forth nature of the contest behind as it piled on 16 unanswered points in the second half to win the contest 30-14.

The Blues will now have the chance to move into the top four next week when they travel to take on Gunnedah.
