Each year the Children’s Book Council of Australia brings children and books together by celebrating Book Week with a theme.
The theme this year it was ‘Reading is my Secret Power’.
Judging by the number of super heroes who arrived for school at Boggabri Sacred Heart School dressed as super heroes the children took the theme seriously.
Morning activities included making masks and bookmarks.
However the students needed their secret powers to find the words and pictures in the scavenger hunt in the library and to work out who they were in celebrity head activity.
Staff joined the students in dressing up as their favourite book character much to the delight of the students.
