A familiar face at Narrabri High School’s front desk for 25 years, Jenny Hood, was farewelled by staff and students on Friday.
Jenny has retired from her role at the school and is moving with her husband Peter to Murwillumbah.
Jenny has been with the Department of Education for more than 29 years, working first with the director of Schools Rob Lewis in Maitland Street. In 1995 she moved to Narrabri Public School and Narrabri West Public School in administration before starting work at Narrabri High School in 1996.
She has seen generations of students come and go.
“I’ve loved it” Jenny said. “The young people of Narrabri are great.”
Jenny, the daughter of Anne Neil and the late Kevin Neil, is a Narrabri resident born and bred.
The move north will put the Hoods closer to their family, daughter, Anita, son Gareth and their families in Brisbane.
