Fever has overcome the Blue Diamonds in the Narrabri Netball Association A-grade grand final on Saturday night at Bev Burrows Courts.

The team finished in first place this year and kept its momentum going in the grand final, winning by 17 points in the biggest game of the winter competition.

The grand final was played under lights and attracted a large crowd which cheered every point scored.

The match was tight to start but Fever was too good on the night, slowly edging further and further away from the Blue Diamonds.

Three other grand finals were contested in the afternoon and into the night.

The B-grade grand final was the closest of the grand finals with just one point separating the two sides.

The B-grade grand final saw the Wee Waa Flames face off against the Electric Chicks.

Wee Waa finished third in the B-grade competition and the Electric Chicks finished in fourth place.

The game was decided in the final moments as the Wee Waa based side scored a late, match-winning goal to secure the B-grade grand final championship.

The final score showed 32-31 as the Flames took out an incredible grand final.

In the under-11/13s competition it was the Wee Waa based Namoi Valley Flames that won the major prize.

The match was a Wee Waa derby as the Namoi Cotton Thunderbirds are also from Wee Waa.

The Flames’ win was not as dramatic as the B-grade grand final but it was still a close match with the Namoi Valley Flames scoring a 22-15 victory over the Namoi Cotton Thunderbirds.

The under 9/10s competition grand final opened the day’s proceedings. The consistent Saphires won that grand final beating the Opals 15-3.
