The Narrabri Ladies Spring Bowls carnival was held over the weekend.

A total of 96 ladies enjoyed 72 ends of bowls playing two games of 18 ends on both days.

The winners were Wee Waa, represented by Heidi Monach (Ligntning Ridge), Dot Dewson, Kay Deson and Lisa Pillar.

The winning team won all their four games with an incredible 51 ends.

There were seven teams that finished on three wins over the weekend so the final places came down to the number of ends won.

In second place was a team from Armidale Services.

That team was represented by Levern Apthorpe, Maria Drozdowski, Kim Porter and Michelle Dexter with three wins and 42 ends.

In third spot was Narrabri.

That team was made up of Marie Redman, Kay Parker, Mary Wheeler and Rhonda Welchman.

The Narrabri ladies finished on three wins and a total of 41 ends.

The fourth-placed side was Charlestown.

Lorraine Scott subbed in on Saturday and Carol Demamiel subbed in on Sunday for the side with Vickee Bertoli, Denise Cashman and Di Smith making up the rest of the team.

Charlestown finished on three wins and 39 ends.

A team from Moree also had 3 wins and 39 ends but on a countback fourth spot went to Charlestown.

The team without a win over the weekend was from the The Hills in Sydney.

The Hills’ team was Diane Stewart, Yvonne Scorer, Di Atkins and Judy Hooker.

It was great to have to stop play for five minutes on Sunday morning waiting for the rain to clear.
