There was trivia, games, art, wine and music at Saturday night’s fundraiser for the Cancer Council.
The ‘Girls Night In’ event was organised by Ange Strong and held at Narrabri RSL Club.
“It was a lot of fun and I’ve had a lot of good feedback,” said Mrs Strong.
Mrs Strong said she admired the work of the Cancer Council and wanted to organise an event to support the organisation.
The Cancer Council said it is the only charity in Australia to work across every area of every cancer, from research to prevention and support.
“Their work is important, there are so many people working behind the scenes to help people in their time of need.”
Mrs Strong said the money raised was still being counted but so far more than $600 would be donated to the Cancer Council.
A highlight of the night was the art class run by Mrs Strong who is an abstract artist.
“I loved teaching people how to use a new medium called ‘alcohol ink’.
“I was impressed with all their framed artworks.”
