The Narrabri Netball Association’s Twilight Mixed Netball season started on Thursday night at Bev Burrows Courts.

Thirty teams across four age groups graced the courts and enjoyed a night filled with terrific action.

Three pools of opens competitions highlighted the night as well as a high school competition, an under-11/13 years and an under-9/10 years.

Narrabri Netball Association’s Tracey Tomlinson said the numbers were an overall improvement on last season.

“Our senior competition has 19 teams which is good,” she said.

“It’s about a four or five team improvement.

“Our junior numbers are a little disappointing considering last year’s numbers.

“But our high school comp looks pretty good.”

The Pool A of the opens competition Choc Chips melted The Smarties 25-9, Nets Get Physical clipped the Eagles wings with an 11-10 victory, and How I Net Your Mother suited up and defeated Mastermyne 20-8.

In pool B All Sorts took down the Bluebirds 24-2, Blue Steelers defeated Mix It Up 11-8, and The Fraggles scored a 28-13 win over Westies.

In the final opens pool competition Untouchballs earned a 28-6 win over Ya Local Blokez, The Link Unk started its campaign on the right foot with a 31-9 win over The Rangers.

In the high school grade G Cool Speed Bumps kicked off proceedings with a 23-5 win over the Fig Jams.

In the second match FBS scored an 18-9 victory against All Stars.

The under-11/13s division was battled across two games.

In the under-9/10 years competition The Ferals picked up a 20-nil victory over Smarties, and Narrabri Swfits scored a 13-1 win against Blue Thunder.
