Narrabri Public School is preparing for what will be a very big bi-ennial school fete – and the school community looks forward to inviting residents along for an afternoon of food, fun and entertainment.
The fete will be a real ‘traffic stopper’ – Barwan Street will be closed off adjacent to the school to accommodate the fete features.
There will be something for everyone at the Narrabri Public School Fete on Saturday afternoon.
The organisers, Narrabri Public School P and C, have assembled what must be one of the most comprehensive programs of events, features and entertainment staged by a school fete anywhere.
The activities in the school grounds will even extend to take up part of Barwan Street which will be closed off the for event which runs from 1pm to 4pm on Saturday afternoon.
Organisers hope that everybody will attend, from within and outside the school community.
“The range of features will appeal to people of all ages” a spokeswoman said.
“We will have novelty stalls, including a sideshow alley, plenty of food and drinks, Harley rides, jumping castles, a photo competition – this is a first for the fete, suggested by Caitlin Evans and Penelope Longstaff – the photo competition and art show will have the students’ works on sale.”
For the more active fete visitors, there will be the opportunity to take part in a tug-o-war competition.
Business houses are invited to field a team of 10 and children will form teams of eight.
Pre paid entry is available now at the school office.
