Six Stingrays competed at the NSW Junior Area Representative Meet at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre earlier this month.
Millie Collins, Clare Jensen, Pip Collins, Bella Bakhuis, Adison Hartog-Smith and Summer Fernance were selected to represent Swimming New England and North West, joining swimmers from throughout the region on Saturday, October 12.
The meet targets area development squad swimmers between nine and 13 years of age.
Stingrays coach Fiona Connell was confident in the training the girls had committed to over winter, but said it was always difficult to exactly predict performance for the first meet.
The squad exceeded expectations.
A total of 25 personal bests were swum during the meet and some were quite sizable.
The Stingrays club said that it was a really nice way to start the summer competition season and that it gave the swimmers confidence that hard work pays off.
