Four matches were played in round 11 of the Narrabri Basketball Association season across the two competitions this week.

On Tuesday night in mixed action Bowlo Dry Lakers defeated Sporties Club 23-18, before the RSL Raptors downed Namoi Hotel 38-23.

Last night the two men’s matches were decided by far more significant margins. In the first game the Tatts Titans outscored RSL Raptors 47-24, before the Bowlo Celtics blew out the Gumboot Ballers 50-15.

In that second men’s match the Celtics led the Ballers just 2-0 after the first six minutes of play.

When half-time arrived 14 minutes later it was the Celtics which had established their dominance, leading 26-1.

In a much closer second half the Celtics outscored the Ballers 24-14 to make the final score 50-14.

Adam Hennessy scored a late free throw which saw the Celtics reach the 50 points and made his game total 13 points.

Teammates Dylan Thompson and Tristan Rozendaal both scored a game-high 14 points each, while Corey Peck chipped in with five points and Zaine Saunders added four.

Gumboot Ballers’ Buddy Jaques was his team’s top scorer with six.

In the other men’s match it was one-way traffic from start to finish as Tatts Titans accounted for the RSL Raptors.

Tatts led 30-13 at half-time before converting that into a 47-24 victory after winning the second half 17-11.

Tatts duo Mitch Nairn (22 points) and Toby Knight (13 points) again led the way for their side.

Teammates Cooper Brayshaw (seven points) and Campbell Hancock (five points) also added to the scoresheet.

RSL Raptors’ Jake Brayshaw finished with a team-high 10 points while Michael Hewett impressed with nine points which included two eye-catching three-pointers.

On Tuesday evening Bowlo Dry Lakers entered half-time of its match against Sporties Club leading 14-8. Sporties Club scored 10 points to nine in the second stanza but the Dry Lakers did enough to earn the victory.

Dry Lakers’ Onika McConnell scored a team-best eight points, while Rebecca Francis (six points), Josh Geddes (four points), Jake Tester (three points) and Josh Day (two points) all troubled the scorers.

Sporties Club’s Sarah Purdy led the way for her team, finishing with a game-high 14 points.

In the other mixed game Raptors led Namoi Hotel 24-12 at half-time on their way to a 38-23 victory.

Raptors’ Jess Lauritsen scored a match-high 12 points, Pete Calsena netted nine, Ashlea Smith and Sarah Hewett added six each, Michael Hewett scored three and Mitch Nairn chipped in with two.
