The annual Narrabri and District Pony Club Pony Camp was held at the Narrabri Showgrounds from Sunday, September 29, through to Saturday, October 5.

Lara Hamilton was named the 2019 Bruce McMaster grand champion on the final gymkhana day.

Lara, the daughter of Dee and Steve Hamilton also picked up the JS Leitch trophy for best senior girl rider at the camp. She was a member of Black Troop which won the ARG Brett trophy for inter-troop senior troop point score, and was part of the Black Troop team which won the Col Crawford memorial trophy for champion team of four.

The 2019 camp was 16-year-old Lara’s eighth and last as a Narrabri rider. She took part at her first pony camp at Wee Waa at just three-years-of-age, then began participating at Narrabri camps from age seven.

Lara only ever missed two Narrabri camps which were when she was 13 and 14-years-old due to other horse commitments, competing at Nationals for reining.
