The four Narrabri Basketball Association semi-finals were contested this week, with the men’s competition and mixed competition grand finalists decided ahead of the November 20 showdowns.

On Tuesday evening the mixed playoff matches were contested which saw top-ranked RSL Raptors and third-placed Bowlo Dry Lakers win their respective matches.

Both beat a grand finalist from last season.

The Bowlo Dry Lakers took on second-placed Namoi Hotel in the first match of the evening, and the Dry Lakers won that contest 20-14 to qualify for the grand final.

Minor premiers Raptors then downed defending champs Sporties Club (formerly Green Team) 32-8 to join the Dry Lakers in the decider.

The men’s matches were then played last night.

In the first match of the evening two-time defending champions Telstra Magic qualified for the grand final with a 35-9 win against second-placed RSL Raptors.

Minor premiers Tatts Titans then set up a grand final rematch against Magic when they downed the fourth-placed Bowlo Celtics 39-19.

The Raptors led 20-4 at half-time before outscoring Sporties Club 12-4 in the second stanza.

In a closer contest the Bowlo Dry Lakers entered half-time with a two-point lead, ahead 14-12 at the break.
