The opening of the Life Without Barriers biennial art exhibition was held on the evening of Friday, November 15.
The event was very well attended and many paintings were sold on the night.
Opened by art teacher for Life Without Barriers Robin Stieger the exhibition featured work by 11 artists and some group works.
The artworks were mainly acrylic paintings on canvas, although other media included scraffito drawings, where a black surface was scratched to reveal colour underneath, abstract foil on black backgrounds, diamanté mosaics and sculpture.
Themes were varied, but included landscape and nature studies, rural scenes, scenes exploring the role of the emergency services and exploration of abstract and negative shapes.
The artists’ paintings were varied in style and colour palette, but one unifying aspect was the vibrancy of the work, through which the enthusiasm of each artist shone.
