On Wednesday, November 20, the Narrabri Rugby Club held its annual general meeting at the Dangar Park clubhouse.

The 2020 committee was formed and a discussion around next year’s plans was held.

Mick Coffey will take the reigns of the Blue Boars as the president next season.

That came as James Kahl stepped down after two years as president.

Coffey, who has also committed to his third season as the Narrabri Junior Rugby Club president in 2020, said that it was the right time to step up.

“I had spoken to a few people and my intention always was to step up as the senior club president,” he said.

“It just seems to be the right time, to leave it another 12 months might have been too long.”

Coffey was also quick to praise the Blue Boars’ outgoing president James Kahl for his enormous contribution to the club as president during the past two years.

“James leaves big boots to fill, but most importantly has left a structure in place that should allow a seamless transition into the job for me,” Coffey said.

“This club is ready to rise to the next level, both on and off the field, and James has played a huge part in getting us to where we are today.”

Tim Whan was unable to attend Thursday’s meeting but was voted in as the vice-president.

Peter Rozendaal, Amanda Fowler and Daniel Kahl returned to their roles of treasurer, secretary and assistant secretary respectively.

The remainder of the committee was formed by general committee members Peter McDonnell, Wayne Nott, Jessie Schwager, Daisy Robinson, Matt McDonnell, Ash Eveleigh, Dylan Duncan and Jodi Cameron.
