The imagination of the phone scammers never ceases to amaze. “I have had many calls about my computer malfunctioning, etc., and invitations to hook up to various electricity companies, but I got a new offer this week,” a reader reports. “The caller said my listing on the ‘Do Not Call’ register had lapsed and I must renew it for a small fee.”
