Barwan Street lights the ‘People’s Choice’

Number 94 Barwan Street resident Kylie Wales was the winner of the ‘People’s Choice’ section of the 2019 Narrabri Christmas Lights Competition.

Kylie wins a $100 cash prize from The Courier.

Kylie’s garden is a colourful display of lights and decorations, truly decorated in the festive Christmas spirit.

Narrabri Lions Club judged the lights competition again this year, cruising the streets and checking the nominations on Tuesday evening.

“Once again we were looking for the traditional Christmas message in the lights and decoration displays,” said Lions president Vince Haire.

“The Christmas story came through in many of the entries, but there were others which were simply displays of Christmas lights.

“And we wanted to find displays in which the details were obvious from the street for viewers passing by.

“However, many people have once again really entered into the spirit of Christmas with their decorations.

“Winner Mrs Fordham’s display was again a clear standout.”
