Police officers have arrested and charged a 17-year-old male with aggravated break and enter, committing a serious indictable offence and using an offensive weapon.
Police allege the 17-year-old was seen by a neighbour breaking into a house in Blanche Peadon Drive on January 27, when the elderly resident of the house was at home.
It’s alleged the 17-year-old pulled out a knife and “threatened” the neighbour after being confronted about why he was on the property.
Sergeant Scott Bolton said an off-duty police officer spotted the 17-year-old a short time later, called the Narrabri Police Station for back-up and police arrested the young man on McClintock Street.
Sgt Bolton said police searched the 17-year-old and located a knife.
The young man was refused bail and is due back in court on February 25.

SgtPolice ne Bolton praised the Narrabri community for its good behaviour on Australia Day.
Sgt Bolton said the only major incident was an altercation at a Narrabri pub.
“Police responded to reports of a fight between three people,” said Sgt Bolton.
Police attended the scene at about 8.30pm and investigations will continue but no charges have been laid.

There have been two alleged break-ins and one attempted break-in at the Wee Waa Memorial Swimming pool in the last week.
“It’s disappointing that a good community resource is being targeted,” said Sgt Bolton.
The alleged theft of confectionary, drinks and about $650 worth of swimming goggles occurred on the nights of January 23 and 27.
Sgt Bolton said the attempted break-in happened on January 24.
Sgt Bolton appealed to the public to let police know if they encounter someone trying to sell the ‘Vorgee’ brand of goggles (pictured below).
Wee Waa High School was also allegedly broken into on January 22.

Police went to the scene of a house fire in Pilliga on January 23.
Sgt Bolton said the occupants were asleep in the front of the house and were awoken by the sound the of smoke alarm at about 2.30am, they soon discovered their lounge room was engulfed in flames.
He said the occupants evacuated the house and a few minutes later the whole house was engulfed in flames.
Sgt Bolton said the house was “totally destroyed” but no one was harmed.
