Summer touch footy season returns after break

Narrabri Touch Inc’s 2019-20 summer touch season resumed yesterday evening following a well-earned Christmas/holiday break.

There were 10 matches scheduled to be played in round eight and all 10 went ahead as the sides played for the first time since Monday December 16.

In the ladies’ competition Agies Ladies continued its dominant season with a crushing 11-0 win against Xtra.

Agies Ladies has won all six of its 2019-20 matches a combined 75-4 following 13-0, 17-2, 14-0, 5-2, 15-0 and 11-0 victories.

The ladies’ competition’s other undefeated side, Redbacks, had the bye in round eight.

In the other ladies’ matches Specialised Civil outscored Hounddogs 7-1, BPR downed Phoenix Two390 3-1, and Bluebirds defeated RSL Roulettes 12-0.

In the men’s Pool A competition the undefeated Grumley Builders made it seven straight victories when the side outscored DTA Lumberjacks 7-2 to take its season for and against to 48-9.

Other matches in that pool saw Gee Bangers down Ballbusters 6-1, and ODAPs outscore Mowley’s Maniacs 6-3.

In the men’s Pool B Hidden Talent and Win or Booze could not be separated with the score locked at 5-all at full time, while Cougars and One23 Cafe also drew by that same scoreline.

In the other match in that pool Damien Chiplin Plumbing downed Stylies 8-5.
