Thank you to the aged-care Whiddon Group’s recreational activities officer Liz Berger for sharing these glorious photos of Weeronga residents soaking up this week’s rain in Wee Waa.

Pictured is Linda Phelps who grew up on a farm near Cuttabri and later lived on the family farm at Merah North.

“She’s always been on the land so she enjoys the rain,” said Mrs Berger.

“Linda said ‘I’ll go out in the rain’, she even wanted to put her feet in the water.

“She said the rain was just beautiful.”

Weeronga resident Shirley Shailer also enjoyed the rain and dared Mrs Berger to paddle in the puddles.

“I did it but there’s no photos,” added Mrs Berger with a laugh.

“They love the rain just as much as the kids.”

Narrabri Shire Weather Station Network said of their 46 weather stations around Narrabri “every one of them has recorded some rain” since 9am on Wednesday.

More than 20mm has been recorded around Wee Waa so far and more than 60mm at Spring Plains.
