The reference to ‘vigoro’ in Thursday’s Courier article about the planned St Francis Xavier’s reunion intrigued a reader. ‘What is vigoro?’ he asks. Topical is able to explain that vigoro was a game played in the schools of yesteryear with a padded bat, a bit like cricket. Narrabri had its own Virgo comp in the 1930s.
