Narrabri based, family-owned business Namoi WasteCorp has been named as a finalist for the NSW Mining Supplier of the Year Award.

The winner will be announced at NSW Parliament on April 2.

“Established in 2001, Namoi WasteCorp specialises in general waste pickup, recycling, liquid waste removal, potable water delivery and hydro excavations for the region’s mining operations and has grown to employ 22 local staff,” the citation reads, “and provided almost one million dollars of work for local subcontractors in 2019.

“Namoi WasteCorp has managed waste removal and associated services at Whitehaven’s Narrabri underground mine for more than 12 years, and in mid-2018 won the contract for waste services across all Whitehaven’s sites in North West NSW.

“The company has been recognised for its investments in technological and mechanical innovation to enhance safety, improve service for customers and reduce their environmental footprint – as well as its commitment to sourcing and subcontracting locally, and to contributing to local community events.”
