A $69,000 grant from the NSW Government’s Stronger Communities fund will help bring a major building project undertaken by the Maules Creek Campdraft Club to completion.

The funding will go towards finishing and fitting out a large 20 by 12 metre shed at the Maules Creek Reserve.

The shed has been built by the Maules Creek Campdraft committee members through the club’s fund raising and working bees.

The government contribution will go towards finalising the project.

Announcing the $69,000 grant on site on his recent visit Nationals Upper House MP, Sam Farraway said Maules Creek Campdraft Club had been working towards having its own permanent facilities for the last 10 years.

The shed will be a community asset.

“Maules Creek Campdraft will fit out the existing shed with a new stainless steel kitchen equipped with safe cooking facilities and commercial fridges for hygiene standards, enabling them to hold events at the grounds without the extra costs of hiring tents and coolrooms.”

“The new shed will support community events and a range of groups with fund raising,” said Maules Creek Reserve Trust president Tony Nobilo.

The Campdraft Club’s ambitious project should be finished after several more weekend working bees.

The 2020 Maules Creek Campdraft will be held at the end of March.
