Customers lined up early at Narrabri RSL Club on Saturday morning as the club held a special sale to dispose of beer and wine ‘surplus to requirements’ now that the club is closed.
“We are unable to trade for the duration of the closure so we decided to sell off the stock and re-stock with fresh supplies when we are able to re-open,” said chief executive Paul Gordon.
There was a steady stream of buyers who took advantage of the ‘everything must go’ sale, proceeding through a managed entry system and observing the all-important ‘social distancing.’
The club’s Legends Bar had been converted into a sales area, customers placed orders and the goods were delivered by staff.
With isolations, shutdowns and whatever else is on the horizon, it was a timely opportunity to stock up for who knows how long with the TV and a refreshment or two.
