The impacts of the corona virus pandemic has been profound for many local businesses.

Some have closed their doors in response to the all important requirements of ‘social distancing’ and its attendant downturn in trade, others have been forced to close by government edict.

Narrabri’s C and D Electronics is open, busy, and a boon for many a resident spending lots of time at home.

Customers are asked to observe the social distancing protocols and the number of people in the store is controlled, as in other businesses.

C and D has everything for entertainment and learning.

“We have been busy,” said C and D’s Leon Cunningham.

The demand for home entertainment has naturally been significant. People are watching a lot of television and signing up to Netflix.

But there has been demand for more than entertainment.

Communication becomes more important when normal social contacts are limited as they are in the current pandemic.

But C and D is ready with all the products and technical support fro those who want or need more screen time.

Signal boosters to improve internet use are popular, aerial set ups and other upgrades are undertaken by Leon.

“We have had customers wanting webcams,” said Leon.

“And people are buying the latest laptops to help with home schooling.”

C and D Electronics has a big range of useful technology to help ease isolation and make at-home time more productive.

That includes musical instruments, but so far the focus has been computers in their various configurations and on internet.

“Music might be the focus of the next wave,” suggested Leon.

“People may want to learn an instrument.”
