Narrabri optometrists Vision Splendid has a vision for the future of the community and the business.

Vision Splendid has closed its doors – but only temporarily – to undertake major renovations and an upgrade of the premises.

“We saw our last patient on Friday, the builders, all local tradespeople, are in and we anticipate re-opening the doors on the newly refurbished premises in about a month’s time,” said company principal Tim Duffy.

“But while the doors are closed, we are always available for emergencies – just a phone call away – and patients also have access to the services of Vision Splendid Gunnedah.”

Mr Duffy said the upgrades, reconfiguration and decor changes had been in the planning pipeline for months.

“We decided to do it now, and turn a negative into a positive,” he said.

“The renovations represent a significant investment, but we see a bright future for Narrabri”.

The renovation and rebuild is a big task, starting with moving state of the art optometry equipment from consulting rooms, stock, desks and fittings ahead of the building.

“We are aiming to better utilise the space we have, create a more natural patient flow and generally enhance the experience for our patients,” said Mr Duffy.

The major upgrade of Vision Splendid is timely as the district looks ahead to a return to better times and the eventual end of the COVID-19 strictures.

Businesses and the farming community are anticipating an upswing in economic and agricultural conditions with the expectation of big winter crop plantings, the Inland Rail project, the further development of the Northern NSW Inland Port and the possibility of expanded energy industries.

Vision Splendid moved into the Maitland Street building five years ago.

Vision Splendid is a major employer in Narrabri district, with three qualified optometrists and five optical dispensers and reception team members.

Vision Splendid draws people seeking professional optometry services to Narrabri from a wide area, with attendant spin off benefits for local businesses and other facilities.

The renovations are a major vote of confidence in Narrabri.

“We are looking ahead with cautious but realistic optimism, certainly not pessimism,” said Mr Duffy.
