Chinas hasn’t been idle during the coronavirus. When other countries were shut down China was busily building and launching a new 40,000 tonne assault ship, further worrying countries like the Philippines, Taiwan, Vietnam and Indonesia. China is claiming a huge swathe of the South China Sea as its own territory, built naval bases and air strip on atolls and generally ramped up its military strength across the region. Meanwhile, a NSW country council has been forced to apologise to China for having the temerity to suggest that the coronavirus started in Wuhan, China.
