Last week’s Topical correspondent who wondered if an invasion from outer space was the next disaster to strike may not have been too far off the mark. He now draws to Topical’s attention the fact that an asteroid, 1.9km wide, was heading towards earth. Fortunately, it went by on Wednesday, missing earth by 6,290,589 kilometres, or about 16 times the distance to the moon.
