Narrabri Women’s Bowling Club’s 2021 Club Singles competition continued last Thursday with three more matches played at Narrabri Sporties.
Rhonda Welchman defeated Lyn Tuckey. The score was 10-all after 12 ends in that match. Welchman then led 16-15 on the 18th end then established a more comfortable lead when she scored a 4 on the 19th end to go ahead 20-15. She went on to win the game 25-21.
Sue Solomon defeated Marie Redman 25-15. The score was 7-all on the 11th end before Redman failed to score on the next six ends while Solomon scored 8 points to take the a 15-7 lead. The game eventually finished after 28 ends had been contested.
In the other match, Debbie Gleeson defeated Cecile 25-7 while Lorraine Scott received a forfeit from Eva Sadler.
Social bowls was also played on Thursday.
Helen Woodward played swinging lead with Lesley Anderson, Lesley Price and Yvonne Hardman and they were defeated by Trish Allison, Gloria Campey and Di Chessells 17-14.
On Saturday, 16 players took part in Russian Roulette bowls.
David Briggs and Dave Dewar both won all three of their games and shared the winnings on 39 points. Tony Redman was next with 32 points, Graham Rose and Anthony Welchman scored 31 points, Trish Allison had 26 points, Lyn Wedesweiler totalled 24, followed by Bill Rosewarn and Helen Woodward (21 points), Rhonda Welchman (20 points), Laurie Gilbert and Marie Redman (19 points), Ron Ryan (18 points), Kay Carolan (16 points), Sylvia Briggs (11 points). Di Chessells received the Bradman with 10 points.
Thursday afternoon social bowls continues to be played at 1pm.
Last Thursday, Doug Mackereth and Graham Rose defeated Michael Octegan and Graham Anderson 13-8 and Lloyd Walker, Neville Baguley and Larry Devine defeated Bill Rosewarn, Barry Shephard and Tony Redman 28-5.
One Narrabri Women’s Bowling Club Singles match will be played this Thursday, April 29. Debbie Gleeson will take on Dawn Armstrong, with Janet Coleman to be marker.
The Namoi District pairs will be played in Narrabri this Saturday and Sunday, May 1 and 2. Teams have entered from Moree, Wee Waa, Lightning Ridge and Narrabri.
The Narrabri Women’s Bowling Club’s pennant teams have been selected to play at Bingara on the Tuesday and Wednesday, May 11 and 12.
They are as follows: Eva Sadler, Cindy Neil, Di Chessells, Helen Woodward; Rhonda Welchman, Marie Redman, Lyn Wedesweiler, Cecile. The manager for the day is Dawn Armstrong.
