For those in the Narrabri community who have always aspired to try their hand at mosaicing, the dream came true for an enthusiastic group at a two-day course at the Narrabri Community College Northern Inland last month.

Led by mosaic instructor Awan Eveleigh, the culmination of creativity, colour and imagination saw a collection of magnificent works of art produced over the two days.

Awan was thrilled with the progress and new skills that surfaced, and said that the ladies did so well with their design ideas.

“It was an absolute delight to see the participants become creative with their own styles,” she said.

It is so important to develop your own unique style and individuality when mosaicing.

“We enjoyed a wonderful couple of days, and I am looking forward to repeating it soon”.

Community College Northern Inland acting campus coordinator Rachael Anderson added, “Community College Narrabri was delighted to hold its first ever mosaic course under the guidance of the very talented Awan Eveleigh.

“Throughout the course, the students learnt traditional techniques, chose their own designs and colours and were able to take home two colourful mosaic pieces.

“It was an absolute joy to watch the excitement throughout the two days and see the finished masterpieces.

“We are so pleased that our students were able to learn lifelong mosaic crafting skills to help them create beautiful artwork.

“Thank you to everyone who came along and a special thank you to Awan and her wonderful assistant Sonja Lien,” she said.

“We look forward to holding future classes in term three”.
