Dawn Armstrong and Eva Sadler have qualified for the 2021 Narrabri Women’s Bowling Club Pairs final which they will play against Marie Redman and Rhonda Welchman this Saturday at Narrabri Sporties’ John McNamara Owen Campey Green.
Redman and Welchman downed Mary Wheeler and Kay Carolan 19-13 in the first semi-final last Saturday.
Armstrong and Sadler challenged Lorraine Scott and Debbie Gleeson in the second semi-final on Tuesday and were victorious 15-14.
The score was locked 14-all going into the 18th and final end.
On that last end, Armstrong had a bowl close to the jack. Gleeson came in narrow to pick up the jack but touched it lightly and tucked the jack under Armstrong’s bowl making it harder to get shot.
Armstrong and Sadler scored a 1 on that end which was their game-winning margin.
Armstrong and Sadler will now compete in their third consecutive Club Pairs final and their fourth in six years.
They lost the past two finals against the team of Helen Woodward and Val Falkiner, 18-17 in 2020 and 18-13 in 2019, and also went down against Gleeson and Scott in 2016.
