Police check COVID compliance among main road motorists
Jul 21, 2021
Police media reports that traffic and Highway Patrol Command along with local police in the Western Region will continue to actively patrol arterial roadways, train stations, bus stations, camping grounds, recreational areas and service stations to minimise the impact of COVID in our communities.
There is an additional presence across Western Region roads which allows police to ensure compliance with the public health orders.
This week officers have issued Penalty Infringement Notices throughout Western Region, including several in Oxley police district.
“If you are stopped for a breath test, your licence will be checked and enquiries are made about your reason for travel in Western Region,” police media said.
“This is about keeping everyone safe and limiting the spread and impact of COVID on the community overall.
Western Region officers will continue monitoring to deter, detect and prevent breaches of the public health order in our region.”
