NSW Police are renewing their appeal for information into the disappearance of Narrabri man Alexander Schlack.
The call for information came as part of Missing Persons Week.
Mr Schlack, aged 48, was last seen at a hospital on Dean Street, North Tamworth, about midday on Monday, May 24, 2021.
Later that day he was reported missing to officers by family from Oxley Police District, who subsequently commenced an investigation to locate him.
Following inquiries and a review of CCTV, police identified that Mr Schlack had been to Marius Street, Tamworth, just before 5.45pm the same day.
As investigations continue to locate Mr Schlack, police are renewing their appeal to the community to come forward with any information that may assist officers.
Mr Schlack is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 185cm tall, with a thin build, brown/grey hair and unshaven.
CCTV images depict him wearing a light brown corduroy long sleeve shirt, black pants and a black puffer jacket.
He is known to have connections in Agnes Water and Cairns in Queensland and Darwin.
Minister for Police and Emergency Services David Elliott said police are making every effort to find Mr Schlack, with inquiries stretching interstate.
“I know local police have had great support from the local community, and they’ve made strenuous efforts to find Alexander,” Mr Elliott said.
“I urge everyone in the state’s Western Region to look at the images of Alexander that police are sharing and try to remember if you’ve seen him or had contact with him – any information may assist.”
Oxley Police District Crime Manager, Detective Inspector Jason Darcy, said Alexander’s disappearance is out of character and police have serious concerns for his welfare due to a medical condition.
“NSW Police thoroughly investigate every missing person report that we receive, and we recognise that to have a loved one go missing can have a devastating impact on family, friends and the wider community,” Det Insp Darcy said.
“As part of Missing Persons Week, detectives are renewing their appeal to the community today to help police find Alexander, so we may reunite him with his family.
“Information from the public – no matter how big or small – can be crucial in helping police with their ongoing inquiries,” Det Insp Darcy said.
