Narrabri and District Junior Rugby League will host its 2021 season awards presentation event at Cooma Oval on Saturday.

The annual presentation is usually held on grand final day at Collins Park, however, this year’s season ended abruptly amid the regional NSW lockdowns that were enforced during August amid growing concern regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.

To abide by the current COVID-19 restrictions in place, the new-look presentation will see teams arrive at designated times, receive their awards and then leave.

NDJRL president Ben Manchee said that while it was disappointing that the season ended early, teams and players deserved to be recognised for their achievements.

“The season ended a week before our grand final day which was a real shame,” Manchee said.

“At our presentation days we usually invite our players’ families as well as our sponsors and our life members, but unfortunately things will look a bit different this year.”

The committee has advised that only one parent per player can attend and asked that everyone enters the field between the playground and canteen where the sign-in station will be.

Team presentation times for this Saturday are as follows:
9am – 5/6-years Rabbitohs and 5/6-years Manly; 9.30am – 5/6-years Raiders and 7/8-years Bulldogs; 10am – 7/8-years Broncos and 7/8-years Tigers; 10.30am – 5/6-years and 7/8-years Wee Waa Panthers; 11am – 11/12-years WW Panthers; 11.30am – 9/10-years Raiders; 12pm – 9/10-years Rabbitohs; 12.30pm – 9/10-years Roosters; 1pm – 11/12-years Blues; 1.30pm – 11/12-years Titans; 2pm – 11/12-years Eels; 2.30pm – Narrabri 14s.
