Local soccer club Narrabri FC enjoyed another successful season on and off the field in 2021.
The club welcomed the addition of a reserve grade team for this year’s Namoi Soccer League competition which now operates as two grades.
In first grade this season, Narrabri FC secured its fifth consecutive minor premiership after winning all 15 of its regular season games to finish on a maximum 45 points.
That earned it the right to host a fifth consecutive home grand final at
Hogan Oval where it would have competed for its second premiership, however, the two-week finals series never went ahead due to regional NSW lockdowns in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The club’s second grade side won eight games, drew two and lost five and finished the season ranked second.
It was scheduled to play against Wee Waa in the preliminary final for a chance to meet minor premiers Moree Services FC in the decider.
Narrabri FC wrapped up the 2021 campaign with a lunch at the Tourist Hotel on Saturday afternoon at which its award recipients received their trophies.
