The egg industry came up with a spectacularly successful slogan back in the 1960s – ‘eata extra egga day.’ And on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of World Egg Day (it was last Friday as everyone knows) the industry association, Australia Eggs, urges more egg consumption – ‘get cracking.’ Evidently the nation ate 249 eggs per person last year, a total of 17.3 million every single day.
