Development approval has been granted for a Maitland Street motel complex, located near the council chambers.
The project will see a 48-room accommodation provider establish a three-storey motel, situated at 27-33 Maitland Street.
One of the project’s developers, Len McKinnon said the facility would provide self-catering capabilities.
“Overall, we want this to be the best offering in Narrabri,” he told The Courier.
Mr McKinnon is joined in the venture by co-developer Don Murray.
He said they were in the process of consolidating the properties and hoped to break ground on the project towards mid-2022.
“We think we can build pretty quickly and efficiently,” Mr McKinnon said.
The development plan, lodged with Narrabri Shire Council earlier this year, shows that parking will provide for 46 cars and coach space.
The complex will include two types of room styles, with the majority of rooms being large in size.
