Thumbs up to The Crossing Theatre. I also remember the controversy around the building of the venue (Topical, Thursday, January 20). All sorts of reasons were put up to try and block the project – the foundation piers were the wrong material, the highway noise and vibration from passing trucks would make stage productions impossible and, of course, it was in the wrong place near the river. I remember those so vehemently opposed vowed ‘never to set foot’ in the venue. Guess what? Pretty soon after it was built they were all there going to shows and movies. If we listened to all the ‘naysayers’ (as Topical’s correspondent called them) we would get nothing done in this town. It’s a great community asset.
