A car upgrade is at the top of the shopping list for a Narrabri man who wheeled in a $200,000 first prize in the recent Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw.
The resident held the first prize winning entry in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1558, drawn Thursday, January 27.
When an official spoke to the winner to confirm the thrilling news, he admitted he’d been waiting for a win to come his way for a long time.
“I’m sort of numb,” he said.
“It’s a wonderful feeling.
“I’ve been playing Lucky Lotteries for a while.
“I’d say for 30 or 40 years, so it feels great to have finally won.
“Yesterday morning, I went to grab another lottery ticket, and while I was there, I thought I’d check my Lucky Lotteries ticket, but it hadn’t been drawn yet,” said the winner in a statement released on Friday.
“Then, last night, I checked the ticket straight after the draw, and that’s when I discovered I’d won $200,000! I’ve been waiting for a call from The Lott to see if it was real.
“It’s time that I upgrade my current car.
“I’d say it’s 15 to 20 years old. I don’t have any other plans at this stage, but I’ll definitely sleep on it overnight.”
The man’s winning entry of 10 random numbers was purchased at Shop 2390 Narrabri.
Shop 2390 Narrabri store manager Mark Crutcher said the win was a momentous occasion for his outlet.
“We’re ecstatic to have sold our first major lottery prize since opening the store. Finally, someone from our store has won big.
“We hope this is the beginning of many more,” he said.
“We will definitely be celebrating this milestone in our store this week.
“We all might treat ourselves to a glass of bubbly.
“Congratulations to the winner, and we hope you enjoy the prize for years to come.”
