Narrabri Chamber of Commerce will hear a report on the success of the Chamber’s 2021 Christmas Carnival at the next meeting on February 8.
“We were delighted with the event,” said chamber president Russell Stewart.
“This was the first big, open community carnival since COVID restrictions were introduced.”
An estimated 2500 people thronged Maitland Street for night shopping and the carnival on December 16.
“The weather was perfect and it was the biggest representation of carnival attractions we have yet had,” said
Mr Stewart.
“It is thanks to Whitehaven Coal that we were able to hold this event for the community.
“Long term Chamber of Commerce supporters Whitehaven made a very generous donation to stage the carnival, as they do every year, and they deserve community recognition and thanks.
“Plans are already in train for this year,” said Mr Stewart.
“The chamber will have more and even better events alongside the traditional favourites at the 2022 Christmas Carnival .”
