Narrabri Touch Inc’s 2022 season mixed competition will get underway at the Cooma Oval fields on Monday evening.
Fourteen teams have registered for the highly-anticipated season, during which touch will return in Narrabri for the first time since August when the final round of the 2021 mixed comp’s regular season was played.
That season was abandoned days before the finals series was scheduled to begin amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Then, later in the year, the
local touch footy association decided to change the format of its calendar and not run its men’s and women’s competitions during the summer.
The mixed comp will now operate during the first half of the year, followed by the men’s and women’s comps in the second half of the year.
Narrabri Touch said it was looking forward to seeing all of its players and officials in action again in round one of the new campaign on Monday.
“The important thing to remember is if you are feeling unwell, stay home and do a rapid test,” Narrabri Touch advised.
“If you have been tested and waiting for results, stay home.
“All regulations as per government rules will apply.
“It is important we look after each other and our community so please be mindful. The committee will have hand sanitisers available so please use these as well.
“Team contacts and referees are reminded to ensure they know when they are refereeing and if they can’t carry out their duties please find a
replacement.”
