If you thought petrol prices in Australia were sky-rocketing due to the increasing crude oil cost, spare a thought for the nation’s neighbours across the Tasman Sea. New Zealand media has reported petrol prices well surpassing $3 a litre, and the nation’s peak motoring association warned motorists could pay as much as $4 a litre. The government has also intervened into the escalating cost of fuel by slashing the fuel excise by 25 cents. The New Zealand government has also halved the cost of public transport fares.
